Wild Wales offers a subsidised Rock Climbing Instructor Training Course in North Wales.
- Spring dates – Monday 27th April – Wednesday 29th April.
- Not more than £190 per candidate (normally £200+).
- Support before the course.
- A clear pathway towards assessment after the course.
- 8 spaces available on the course.
- Based in North West Wales around Tremadog/Llanberis area.

Why Complete a Rock Climbing Instructor Course in 2026?
The Rock Climbing Instructor qualification is a great outdoor climbing foundation course, it gives you the skills and accreditation to take groups of people climbing and abseiling on single pitch crags and on indoor walls.
Rock Climbing Instructor courses are regulated by Ofqual.
- A Rock Climbing Instructor Course is brilliant for expanding personal skills.
- A Rock Climbing Instructor Course is excellent for building personal confidence outdoor climbing.
- A Rock Climbing Instructor Course will eventually mean you can work with groups climbing indoors and on single pitch crags.
- A Rock Climbing Instructor Course is part of a pathway to other mountaineering qualifications.
- A Rock Climbing Instructor Course is a valuable accredited course which along with other outdoor qualifications will make you a valuable member of staff for many Outdoor Centres.

Rock Climbing Instructor Training – Before the Course.
We’re here to help with anything you need before the course, here’s what you’ll need to have done before you attend a Rock Climbing Instructor Course.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You should be an experienced indoor and outdoor rock climber.
- You should have a genuine interest in climbing and the supervision of groups.
- You must be a member (club or individual) of a mountaineering council (BMC, Mountaineering Ireland, Mountaineering Scotland).
- You must create an account and register for the Rock Climbing Instructor qualification (cost £69).
- You must have recorded a minimum of 35 lead climbs* (ideally these will be recorded on DLOG*)
- 15 lead climb trad routes
- 15 lead climbs indoors
- 5 lead climbs, bolt protected sport climbs.
*But we can help you with ALL that stuff and it’s really easy.
